About
About Cambridge Snow Removal
A direct booking line for one vetted, insured snow removal contractor working across Cambridge and into North Dumfries.
Cambridge Snow Removal is a booking line, not a snow removal company, and it does not dress itself up as one. Its purpose is narrow: a property manager, plant manager or homeowner in Cambridge who needs winter service gets put in front of one vetted, insured contractor, rather than submitting the same request to half a dozen sites and spending November fielding calls.
In practice that means the contractor doing the work carries their own liability insurance and WSIB coverage, walks the site before quoting, puts the scope in writing and answers for the season. Your request is not resold to a list of operators and there is no bidding for your job.
The site is straight about the by-law because Cambridge's rules are not the same as its neighbours'. The 36-hour sidewalk rule, the BIA core exclusion, the snow event trigger and $80 fine, the January 1 to March 15 overnight parking dates, the City's salt policy and the assistance programme details quoted here are the City of Cambridge's as published for the 2026-27 season, and they apply inside the city. Ayr and other North Dumfries addresses have their own by-laws, which are checked against the address. Where the City offers something a household qualifies for at no cost, this site says so instead of selling the same thing.
The site is also straight about timing. No page here promises a lot or a driveway cleared by a particular hour. The City says most of its residential streets will stay snow-covered through much of the winter; a private contractor working the same storm is not faster than the weather, and the contractor would rather lose a booking than make a promise that fails on the morning it matters. What is promised on a lot is the sequence, not the clock. Roof snow and ice dams are handled case by case and referred where appropriate.
Some work is turned down. Very large distribution sites that need loaders and a dedicated overnight crew, steep driveways where the owner wants a quick pass rather than a full clear, properties too far from any route to serve reliably, and any arrangement that depends on running snow down into the street are better declined than started.
How this works
When you call 289-272-9770 or send the form, your details go straight to the snow removal contractor covering Cambridge and nowhere else. Through the season the line is covered seven days a week; while crews are out in a storm it goes to voicemail, and the recording and your number are relayed to the contractor at once by text and email, with a call back that day or the next. For a lot the next step is a walk of the site to draw the stacking plan and agree the sequence; for a driveway it is a look at the grade, the hand work and where the snow can go. The written quote follows from that. Routes for the 2026-27 season are being built now, and autumn is the time to be on one.
What we won't do
- Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
- Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
- Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
